Unapproved General Meeting Minutes
September 18, 2018 6:30 P.M.
West Douglas Church of Christ
1924 W Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS 67203

The meeting was called to order by president Vincent at 6:45 pm.  Other attending officers were Dorothy Crouch, LaVerne Blaisi and thirteen other neighbors in Delano.

Vincent distributed the draft agenda and they were accepted after motion by Laverne and Seconded by Dorothy Crouch. Laverne reported that five trucks were in her neighborhood prior to our meeting tonight.

At 6:50, Vincent introduced our Guest Speaker; Brandon Findley, Community Services Representative from Wichita’s Office of Community Services.  He talked about the HOME ownership 80 program. He had handouts for those interested.

Dorothy asked Brandon about the free paint program. Brandon that the housing department has been moved to the 10th floor of City Hall,

At 7:30pm Officers Ricky and Adam gave their report. One of the main crimes was at Subway.

Dorothy Crouch gave the Treasurer's Report and had distributed the report at various tables. She also reported about the public hearing on October first and another on October fourth at City Hall.

Kendice reported about the Franklin Elementary PTO that is forming.

The Fall Cleanup collected 33 tons of waste at a cost of $9,188.89 to the City.

Kendice reported about the pie fundraiser and raffles.

Because students needs have changed, we voted to grant $300 Franklin's Pando clothing fund.

The Election will be in November. The nominating committee is, Leslie Kinder, Kendice Talty, William Leonard, Kristin Njorge, and Lisa Cole. Residents are asked to provide suggestions to any committee member within the next two weeks.

We approved four Standing Rules to improve the executive board's accountability. They are:

  1. The president should publish a draft DNA agenda one week before the DNA meeting.
  2. The secretary should submit the previous meeting's minutes one week before the DNA meeting.
  3. The treasurer's report should be submitted one week before the DNA meeting and shall include all deposits/expenditures and a balance sheet.
  4. Expenditures not approved at a DNA meeting that exceed $125 dollars require a written board verification via email or telephone.

The President reported on the Delano Revitalization Plan and WIN membership, open streets, and other upcoming events. The Prairie Fire Marathon will be October 14th.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:40pm.
