Old Business: Update on The Delano Business Association (DBA) and talk of the recent Property Tax increases. Also, a review of some minor issues during the Paddy’s Day Parade
with storefronts blocking sidewalks, golf carts on city streets, and a Flea Market held at Riverfront Stadium and their signage violations.
Financial Report: Other Reports: Beat Officer Phom shared with us that overall crime in Delano has gone down by 43%, but an increase in property crimes of 28%. Discussion on “Second Chance Thursday” and what it involves. Vandalism in the 200 block of north Elizabeth was reported. Possible code violation with a recently installed sidewalk near Seneca and University. Neighborhood. Feral cats were also reported.
New Business: Exploration Place (EP) unveiled new plans for an amphitheater on the riverbank and a parking lot extension. Concerns were voiced about lack of communication between EP and the DNA. A few possible dates for a neighborhood cleanup were discussed, no firm date set. Discussion on the remodel on the SW corner of Seneca and Douglas by Lange. Oxford Villa shared their opening of April 27, 2024. Discussion of Dumont Place not following submitted plans, storm water concerns, signage rules, etc.
